Motor Controls: Schematic Symbols

Motor Controls: Schematic Symbols is part four of the Motor Controls eight-part training series.

The course discusses schematic symbols. Students will be introduced to the differences between symbols used to represent electrical and control components. The manner in which symbols are drawn and interpreted will be discussed.

Course objectives include:

  • Recognize the symbols used in schematic diagrams
  • Determine when a contact should be connected normally open or normally closed
  • Draw schematic diagrams using the proper NEMA symbols.
