Basic Engine Lathe 14-Part Series

This 14-part training series will help students master engine lathe fundamentals.

The Basic Engine Lathe series is designed for new machining students who have little or no knowledge of machine technology. All the terms used in the series are defined or explained, so students are not required to have a machining vocabulary to understand the content.

Basic Engine Lathe: Mounting & Truing Work In The Four-–Jaw, Independent Chuck Demonstrates the fundamentals of mounting a chuck on an engine lathe and truing a workpiece in a chuck.

Basic Engine Lathe: Three Methods Of Facing Work To Length Introduces students to the three methods of facing work to length in a chuck.

Basic Engine Lathe: Straight Turning Work Of Two Diameters Shows students how to straight turn a workpiece to two concentric diameters in a four-jaw independent chuck.
